Meeting opened 7:40. Present were Dave Engel, Dini Schut, Sandy Craig, John Jascob, Madelyn Gratop, Managers Gary Ohler, Helen Elden and guest Sharon Keesee.
New Business: Minutes of 2/8/93 meeting were read and accepted as read.
Financial Report: Gary distributed a spreadsheet and profit and loss sheet. We have a new layout for the cash register keys which enhances check-out and record keeping. Feb. loss was $400. Total sales was $14,000. Gary expects increased in the next months. Helen, Jani Gatewood and Sharon Keesee have developed a loss tracking system. Gary must find a way to integrate this method into the computer. Payroll is 20% of sales, 19% of expenses. Checking balance is $643.58. Accounts payable is $2500 to a variety of accounts. $4601 sales to date for March. Twelve new members in February. Ads in Herald and new Montage magazine and word of mouth account for most new members. We also discussed the current cooking classes. The freezer is hooked up as of today! Within two days, we should know if it works well. Helen likely will include frozen foods in her next FORC order.
Nominating Committee: Sandy shared timeline chart from Kyle listing board member office terms and time served; who is up for re-election, etc. , as well as the nominees for offices on the board. Three votable resolutions are: 1.) Should we stock range fed poultry? 2.) Beef? 3.) Board train new board members.? We discussed necessity of having member vote for 1. & 2. above. Helen feels this is controversial and wants member input. Dave suggested a survey for response instead of a vote. We discussed Mail-in section to a frequent flyer for the survey. Ballots for board elections not yet printed. Kyle will have them in time.
Membership: 429 members. (Plus three or four more) Gutknecht is confirmed for membership meeting. Nancy Smith-Hobson will introduce him. Hal and Steve Miller will be clean-up crew. Madelyn and Becky Fitzpatrick are registration.
More New Business: Grand opening/Health fair. June date with rain date forthcoming. Dini suggested also the garage sale. Five Points assoc. wants to work with us on this. Adjourned 9:07
