Meeting on February 19, 2009

Meeting opened: 7:10 pm

Meeting adjourned: 8:35 pm

 

Meeting Minutes:

1. Yvonne motioned to hold approval of meeting minutes until each director has received a hard copy. Lisa seconded.

2. Sandor Halasz discovered a discrepancy in the membership database contribution of $1500 by ?, who can't be found in the membership.

3. Transcription method of new member entries produces errors in member information.

4. Abby's Management Report

a. NCGA sending team to Co-op on march 23-25 to review merchandising and financing.

b. Informal change of name to “Phoenix Food Co-op”

c. Articles of Incorporation need to be verified to contain accurate information for IRS reference.

d. NCGA repayment period expanded to 12-months.

5. Lisa Blake – Treasurer Report.

a. Tom Buckley (CPA) will begin reviewing Phoenix finances on Saturday February 21, 2009.

b. Warren cleared up the Year-End statement regarding the $1800 Returned Deposit Item.

6. Halász brought up those of limited income whose slips he saw when entering membership data, what to do for them, although is against lowering the share price for anyone--for thinking about, not immediately deciding. Yvonne Goodwin said she is not against that although David Finet was. Abby Youngs said that some of limited means already have paid although single mothers of four. She mentioned also the criteria already used for the limited-income membership.

7. Lisa Blake brought up calling members about pledges, or about verifying that our information is correct. Halász said he is not ready to call about the latter, but Richardson said he is willing.

8. Youngs said of the accident and break-in, that the driver’s insurance company paid too little for repairing the wall—an adjuster came and the company issued a check—but the landlord’s insurance will cover the rest.
