Manager's Report from Lisa Blake

Our plate-glass window was broken out Friday a week and a half ago. It was replaced within the day. When one was broken out under Chad Olson's tenure, he didn't use our insurance because of his worry about raising rates, but I have claimed it.

After the resignation of one of our employees, Ayana Taylor is picking up some sub hours. She has another job, but knows the store well and is available for unplanned openings, as when someone's truck breaks down or illness interferes, with someone being unable to come in for shifts.

We have become more vigilant about shoplifters, and as a result, no one has been shoplifting, or at least caught shoplifting, in a couple of weeks.

Sales from May through May 23 look to be about 2% under last year, but our inventory will be down by 3%, which is good—more efficient use of money.
