Minutes, Board Meeting 2/28/18
Location: Toledo-Lucas County Main Library
Present: Thomas Fine, Adrienne Armstrong, Maureen Ciesinski, Hermann von Grafenstein, Shelly Boraby, AlyxKendzierski, Anita Levin, Mary Sawers.
Absent: Claudia Cooper, Sean Fitzgerald (General Manager). Resolutions are numbered R1–R2.

1/24/18
- Sean – Investigate Farmers Market, Black Creek Farms for HABA –ongoing
- Hermann will write to Chris Johnson's daughter expressing condolences for the death of her mother. Getting address.
- Hermann will continue looking the March-17 minutes or an audio file, and if found, send it to secretary Anita Levin. Cannot be located. DONE
- Hermann will work with Alyx to contact Kent Illenden (lillenden@sfcgraphics.com) at The Historic Times (Old West End paper). DONE
- Sean will identify items that could be displayed/offered at a coop booth at a farmer's market (e.g. bulk items). ONGOING
- Sean will send messages to
old regulars
who have not visited the coop for some time. ON GOING
- Hermann will talk to Mary regarding potential coop building appraisers. Consideration for an appraisal will be (1) cost of a new roof (2) repairs to the parking lot (3) a new heating/cooling system. DONE
- General Manager's report – Sean not present but his report was accepted as circulated. Hermann will discuss with Sean alternative provider sources on a limited basis, with the reservation of the Board.

Financial report
Tom presented Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet were reviewed. The coop is breaking even but sales continue to decline but our losses are less than in 2017. Aged AR reviewed. We are paying up some of our bills.

Building appraisal
- Tom presented an offer from Landlord Royce Haddad proposing a price range for the sale of the building to the coop.p
- A committee was formed to investigate the purchase. Members of the committee are: Tom Fine, Hermann von Grafenstein, Anita Levin, and GM Sean Fitzgerald (R2 5/0/0).p
- Tom will notify Royce about the formation of the committee. Tom and Hermann have name of appraiser and will obtain information on cost.p
- Outreach committee report – Adrienne
Seed Swap was successful and we got quite a few names. Party for the Planet at the Zoo coming up. OWE Festival first weekend in June. Plant Swap at the Library in early May. Hal is interested in another Don White Fundraiser possibly with a Potluck May 6, 2018. Need a location. Blade article coming out as video. Mark Pollan at Authors Authors
- Rewards for the marketing study group
A discussion was held regarding reward coupons for the participants of IrynaPentina's marketing groups. The store will not contribute financially, but will issue coupons if board members are willing to finance them.
